If you’ve been to one of our events or just seen our shirts on your friends, then you’ve seen that the honeycomb is a big part of it.
We usually start off designing the sticker inside a hexagon and then use that to create the T-shirt design. That said, you can design in any order you like. Just know that the design will be made smaller and possibly modified to fit onto the sticker.
The Goal:
To create a unique shirt to commemorate the 10th Annual Skoolie Swarm that attendees will purchase ahead of time and to get people excited for the upcoming event.
Eligibility requirements:
- Open to everyone.
- All ages will compete at the same level because we will only choose 1 design
Prizes:
- If a hand drawn (on paper) submission wins then the prize will be 50% off the Swarm of your choice
- If a digital design (hand drawn digitally, no ai designs) wins then the prize will also be 50% off the Swarm of your choice.
Design specifications:
- Digital designs, 12 x 12 inches at 300 dpi.
- Hand drawn on paper will have to be digitized and likely redrawn, please fill page as much as possible.
- Line thickness should be ¹⁄₁₆ minimum. ⅛ is better.
- A test of the design is to zoom out or take a photo of the hand drawn and make the photo smaller to see if they can see the details when it’s a sticker size.
- Drawing closest to the actual dimensions is best so it’s not pixelated.
- Best if-one color (drawn in black) If you have a great idea for more than one color let us know first to see if it’s feasible.
- Designs might be modified at our discretion
- If digital, submit a high quality PNG or PDF.
- Up to 5 designs per person
- The design will be fit into the shape of a hexagon for the sticker to fit the honeycomb with all of the past events.
- The overall size of the hexagon sticker is 4 x 3.46” Fine details can get lost
- If you use clipart please make sure that it is not AI generated. If you aren’t sure please don’t use it.
Restrictions:
- AI generated designs will automatically be disqualified.
Judging:
- Designs will be judged based on creativity, originality, adherence to theme, and overall appeal
- If we receive more than 10 submissions the 10th Annual team will have the first vote to determine the top 10 submissions to be presented to the fb group for voting.
- Voting will close Jan 10th and the winner will be notified by email, phone call or text. .
